Affordable Mobile Home Transport / Van Taylor Wanted full payment before my home was set up. My move of 50 miles took 8 weeks and was never finished

I hired Van Taylor to move my mobile home and set it up in a new site 50 miles away. Paid $2000 up front. The home was not moved for 25 days.

Once the home was on site he wanted the remaining balance of $1465 additional expenses added such as gravel, equipment rental labor etc... Contract stated the set up of home would be with subcontracter Ralph Haynes.

I said I would not pay until the job was done. Mr. Taylor stopped answering his phone for 16 days. When I was able to contact him again he said I would be hearing from his lawyer and hung up.

I have since learned (from Alabama Manufactured Housing Commission in Montgomery, AL) neither Van Taylor nor Ralph Haynes is certified to transport or set up mobile homes. Beware of the very professional looking web site.

Now 2 months after I started this process I am hiring another installer to complete the job. This has been a nightmare. Stay away from this individual.
