Well it looks like alot of people have got the same check I did.
I lost my job yesterday and I was so happy to actually think maybe this situation would not be so bad. Well I then started thinking my luck has been bad all my life, so I need to check into this because I am sure my luck has not changed.
I then looked at the envelope where the check came from, it was from Canada. Then the check was from a company in North Carolina by the name of Carolina Foods inc. Address: 1807 South Tryon St. Charlotte North Carolina 28203. The letter it self was from Dublin Ireland. It too said that I had won a lottery in the amount of $115,500.00 and that I would be spliting the total amount of $2,450, 5000.00 between 23 other winners.
The letter also stated that I need to deposit the "assistant check" in the amount of $ 1,996.70 to help with the international clearance fees of $1,848.50.By this time I WOKE up and realized that this was all a scam. I then called the number that was on the letter 011-353-85-777-9455 and to my surprise, it was disconnected.
Well I then began to research online and this is how I found usacomplaints.com. I have never heard of this website but I will definately will be passing this all my friends and family so that they will not become a victim of the scam. It looks like what they are doing is reproducing fake checks with CORRECt account info of these companys and then getting you to cash them.
So who do you think will go to jail for this when the company calls the police? Yes, thats right it will be you. So if I were you I WOULD NOT DEPOSIT THE CHECK! Call the police, the company that is listed on you Bogus check and your bank as well to notify them just incase you have already deposited the check. They might be able to get your account info once the check is deposited. We have difficulties in our lives that would have us to believe that maybe we are one of the lucky ones to have actually benefit from these lotterys.
DO NOT FALL FOR IT. Like my grandmother always said nothing is free in life and only hard work pays the bills. Have a great day and hopefully this has not already ruined your life. I would pass this info around by email to all your friends and family and they can pass the info on to all the people on their contacts list, so no one else falls victim to this scam. Thanks.
