AMR Long Distance fraudulently obtained our new MasterCard number and charged our account $48.79 on 10Apr02, and again on 10May02.
When talking with MasterCard repeatedly, they finally removed the first charge and sent a confirming letter.
Upon talking with them again today, they removed the interest accrued on the fraudulent $48.79 first charge. The MasterCard collections supervisor ("Mike") called back and said that AMR Long Distance had made the second charge to our account (10May02).
I looked for AMR Long Distance via google.com search and located this usacomplaints.com website.
I then contacted MasterCard again, and talked with the supervisor, and he looked on his computer and read a report on AMR Long Distance. This makes MasterCard aware of the fraud, and it may be possible to stop all charges to MasterCard by AMR Long Distance, perhaps.
Anyway, thanks for this usacomplaints.com website. Aren't thieves clever! They stay awake all night devising systems of theft. I wonder if we could replace a few U.S. Congress thieves, and give us citizens a few more hours of restful sleep at night...
