After taking out student loans to go to college, I had a hard time finding a job. I had to take a lower paying job to try and stay on top of my bills. All of my student loans were behind and turning into a great big mess.
I finally got a better paying job and was able to start to make a dent on my student loans. I was put into contact with JK Harris on February 15 to help consolidate and bring my student loans up to date. At this point I was contacted by Chris Rossini. A package came in the mail and I was to fill out forms such as a New Client Confidential Information Sheet/Welcome Sheet, Financial Disclosure and an Engagement Agreement. With this I had to pay JK Harris a $250 Down Payment, a $250 Hold Down Payment (that was cashed 1 month later), and a Payment Program to pay $550. This is a total of $1,050.00 for JK Harris to help me (in their words from the contract):
1. Assistance in gathering all information pertaining to Student Loan Debt.
2. Development of Emergency Action Plan (EAP), if necessary.
3. Comprehensive analysis of all financial data.
4. Direct phone consultation and reveiw to develop plan to settle, reorganize or eliminate Student Loan Debt.
Well I did my part and I got a whole lot of nothing. I got the run around every time I tried to call and get a status of our progress. I would find out I no longer had the same Representative they no longer worked for the company. Off to a new person I went.
Today is September 2. It has been 18 months and I have gotten no where. My Income tax returns have be been taken for Tax offsets the last 2 years and starting in January my wages have started to be garnished.
I can't believe our Government allows these companies to take advantage of people. I want my money back from this company and I am going to do everything in my power to get this money back.
