Deceptive Practices and Rip Off

Like so many others on this site I also received the "Match.com Offer 2003" and I followed the instructions on how to receive the free three-month subscription.

I received emails from Match.com telling me that my account had been reactivated, but the links included in their emails were for subscribing using my credit card. I have received emails from other members and winks, as well, but I think this is a ploy to get people who received the letter to sign up using a credit card.

I got the same answer from Match.com customer service as J. From the Bronx. They said they were not aware of this "promotion" as it came from another department and they could not give me a name or phone number to contact.

I told them that this is not a promotion as it looks to me like an out-of-court settlement to a lawsuit. I am about to file a report with my attorney general and the attorney general in Texas where Match.com is based, because this is so bogus and they need to be stopped before they swindle more people with this fake "free offer".
