Columbia House sent me a bill for a shipment that cost over $60 and I paid it with a personal check. Columbia House cashed my check but only credited me for $10. Xx and some change.
In May I called a customer service number to complain and I was told to send a copy of the cancelled check for proof. I told the customer service rep they should have record of my check and I shouldn't have to prove what the check cashed for.
Anyway the next month's bill came with a late fee and a remaining balance not paid. I mailed them a copy of my cancelled check and the only reply I got was another bill with another late fee assessed.
I tried to contact customer service after 5:00 pm with no luck, so I tried again during regular business hours. To no avail I cannot find a person to speak with and cannot resolve this by mail or e-mail.
The last bill I received this week says they will report me to a Consumer Reporting Service if I don't pay the additional amount plus late fees.
This is extortion. I e-mailed customer support and wrote I will not be intimidated by their letter or succumb to their extortion due to the fact nobody is actually working in customer service.
Like everyone else I read about, there is nobody to speak with and all the service numbers do not get you to an actual person. If anyone knows what the REAL number to contact a person with Columbia House I would like to know.
