This company moved me from New York to Utah. The deception began immediately when the sales rep quoted me a price far below any of the other movers I interviewed.
When I confronted the salesman about this he told me several lies including the fact that they "decided" to waive an interim trucking charge to be competitive (the truth is it is against the law in New York to park a 53 foot trailer on the street, I later found out). He also told me his compeition was very jealous because they, Mafucci, do such a big business. It is actually the opposite — Mafucci, I now know, lowballs the price on purpose to get the business.
When my belongings arrived there was a desk missing as well as two parts of an antique rolltop desk which could not be replaced; a carton of family photographs and other irreplaceable memorabilia was also missing.
The driver assured me that the material was most likely in his truck and that he would retrieve it and send it to me after his last stop in San Diego.
The materials were never found; the price wound up costing much more than their estimate and was actually closer to the estimates I had gotten from other movers, including other * movers.
They offered to settle with me on my antique desk but then withdrew at the last minute after stringing me along for months.
They are deceitful, dishonest, irresponsible and regularly break the law, I have since found out.
Stay away from these crooks!
