I am one of many women in their 50's out there looking for a "good" man. My welcome packet to Beaverton Oregon included an application to Great Expectations Dating Service. I filled it out. Then the calls started - over and over and over. They even had a way of making me feel guilty for putting them off. I finally went in. I was tired of the on-line dating service and thought that if a man wanted to put money down than he must be serious. I figured, maybe $200. Before I knew it, I had been talked into going into my limited savings account and putting down $2000. Prior to this I had considered myself an educated, intelligent woman. Don't I have a masters degree??? Yet, somehow I was minipulated and conned into putting $2000 into a service that was a rip off.
First off, I was shown pictures and told how wnderful the men in the photos were - funny I never found these men again on their list. I had signed up for photos by a "professional photographer" who I discovered is nothing of a professional and takes identical photos of every client. All carbon copies. I had a video taken - which is horrid!!!
I decided to take this seriously and looked into their events. Funny, every event costs money - they aren't cheap. After going to a few, I said forget it. They were a waste of time.
I purposfully took on the challenge and searched the men listed in the Portland and Vancouver Washington area. After several weeks of seeing the same men listed over and over again and never receiving replies from men or getting automatic rejections, I couldn't take the stress any longer and put my membership on hold.
Since putting my membership on hold, I have heard nothing. Nothing!!! I imagine that they are counting my $2000 as their gain and my loss. I feel so utterly stupid and want very much to have my $2000 back. I need it. However, I have been told that it doesn't really matter how dissatisfied I am - they never refund money.
