I will start from the beginning. I had a Airtouch Cellular contract that was charged early termination fees of $300. When I refused to pay these fees, Verizon (FORMERLY AIRTOUCH CELLULAR) had a collection agency get a wage garnishment against me in the amount of $1214.05 plus. 32 of interest a day. This includes attorneys fees and costs.
It was brought to my attention early on this year that Verizon was brought into a class action suit because these oral contract agreements to terminate and charge $150 on early termination accounts was not enforceable. So Verizon was required to refund these fees and correct TRW's of all affected customers involved.
I have complied with what was required of me to do in order to recieve my refund of early termination fees and then I find out that instead of receiving a check for the amount that Verizon owed, Verizon credits my Verizon account.
I dont have a Verizon account.
I would like to further state that I should be entitled to all the money back that was garnished because of their mistake in the first place.
Thats not the worst of it yet though. I then recieve a letter stating that the money was credited to my Verizon account on April 30 and confirmed by one of Verizon's representatives. GUESS WHAT? IT WASNT!!! I called the collection agency 2 weeks after this letter and they had not received any notice of credit.
I am furious about being lied to while Verizon intends to stay MONEY HUNGRY LEECHES.
I have tried to resolve this over the phone numerous times with VERIZON only to be given the run around, or unsatisfied promises.
To this date I have written 3 letters on a another grievance website and forwarded a copy of each to 3 California governers to look over.
Verizon sure likes to collect money but doesnt want to pay out in service, quality or refunds.
