There was a 40 % discount in Filene's. This store will be closed. I thought the reason of the discount is this. Last Friday, on 14th of April I bought a watch from there. I asked the salesgirl if she can make narrower the watch, but she told me she can't, also told me that you can go to any jewelery store and they can make it narrower for you.
After that I went to a jewelery store and they narrowed it. When I went home looked my watch carefully and saw that there are lots of scares on it and on the belt of the watch. On Saturday I went Filene's and showed the scares on my watch, the salasewoman told me that since our manager is not hear you should come Monday. I didn't went there on Monday because it was national holiday for M. A State. Then I went Filene's on Tuesday spoke to another salesman and he told me the same thing since our manager is not hear you should come anothetday, but he gave me their manager's work hourse.
At the end I went there today 20th of April and showed the scares on my watch. They told me it is the reason why they make discount. I told them, if I know this issue I would't buy it, anybody didn't tell me this. They showed me the writting that is on the shalves which says "almost perfect". However I am not a native speaker, I am a froigner and it's my 4th week in USA. I am here for improving my english skills. I tryed to explained that how can I understan what does it mean. After lots of talking they decided to change my watch but the othet one that they offered me was not better than mine.
I refused to change it, I told I don't want this watch I want my money back. They refused me and showed me the receipt, there is a stamp on the receipt which says "All sales final no returns on trade ins". However they stamped my receipt after I payed or after they get the money. Untill I got the receipt, there is no opportunity to know that they don't accept returns. What is more they told me this watch is made norower. May be these scares happened in there, but it has lots of scares and scares are not near the narrowed part, they are in the different parts.
The other thing they told me was you should be seen the sacers on the wach when you tried it. However, because it is not so clean, there is dust on it, I couldn't see, and also they are not so deep, if you doesn't look carefully you couldn't see anything.
It seems to me that it is an unfair stuation. My english is not good enough to andrestand the meaning of "almost perfect", moreover how can I know the reason for discount is not because they are closing and try to finish everything in that store.
In this point I would like to learn that if there is something that I can do to get my money back.
If anyone can help me I would be so pleased.
