We received 3 bills for 'long distance charges' supposedly made by dialing 10-10 numbers from our home phone. One was made when when no one was even home.
I directly dialed the number and was immediately bounced into a recording that said to call the 'Customer Service' 800 number. This message says our number was traced through Caller ID and they have a recording of the person who made the call. My son recognized one voice as his own when he had misdialed the local number of a friend and asked for him by name. He has not called that friend since the last 'charge' (instead the friend calls him) and we have not had any new 'charges.' We think it has something to do with their phone number.
Now the phone calls requesting payment have started. Their representatives are identified only by number and tell you the charges cannot be credited and they will continue to call until the bill is paid.
I have filed complaints with the US Postal Service (bills came thru the mail), the IN Attorney General's Office (I live in IN) and the OH Attorney General's Office (their billing address). Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
