David Bell is a regional managing director for Spherion's Minneapolis, Bloomington and Des Moines offices. He got to where he is at by leveraging his Wells Fargo contacts from his prior employement and building a high sales volume. However, he clearly has no management skill.in the Des Moines start up office he promoted an office admin to recruiter because she had a great eye for the right people for the right job but then gave her absolutely no training on how to recruit and specifically on the sales side. He provided no development plans, no evaluations and rarely even visited the office or called. He ultimately looked at sales reports and when he didn't see the numbers he wanted blamed this person for it. When asked how she could improve he said "I don't know" and couldn't come up with anything. He said his management style is to spend the majority of his time with is top producers.
