Houston ripoff wanted to charge more to replace thermostat than cost of new refrigerato

Haier wine cooler Model BC112G.
Two years old, would not turn compressor off.
Contacted factory, was given A&E Factory Service number.
Called A&E and was told there would be a minumum charge of US$59 just for the visit, not applicable towards service.

Technician came, gave a quote for:
Thermostat, Operating - US$ 160,00
Labor, - US$ 160,00
Basic home call charge, US$ 59,00
TOTAl: US$ 379,00
Comment:
A brand new Haier wine cooler, delivered to the house, all included, costs US$ 323,00 on Amazon.com. Similar prices are found at appliance stores.
