Would not post photos or updated profile, so site was unusable to me, would not make it right ripoff

Account began on 9/25, paid 29.99 for one month membership. They sent me emails after all the "approvals" of the photos and profile, but never posted anything 24,48, 72, then 7 days later, still no photos posted and even the text had not be updated. I had sent numerous emails for days asking them to please post the photos/profile because I can't use the site otherwise.

I asked for an additional 7-days to compensate me time-wise since they were taking sooooooooo long to do anything. I asked that if Match.com was unable to do so for whatever reason, to cancel and refund my credit card.

On 10/05 I went through the cancellation procedure, because they still HAD NOT posted the photos or the updated profile text. I stated in my "reason" that I would be filing a chargeback with my credit card company and that I had used a pre-paid credit card which only had a few dollars left and that I had changed the billing address and the name so that Match.com would not be able to even extract that if they tried (that's after I read about their refusing to stop billing people after they had cancelled).

In this case, they have refused to provide the service I paid for. No photos, no profile, that means no service received and therefore, I am legally entitled to a refund. I was willing to accept extra days and simply use the month I paid for. However, I received an email stating that they don't provide partial refunds. It appears they can't read.

Additionally, the response to my request for an extra 7-days because I couldn't use the site which would in essense be the 7-day trial period that I didn't get offered anyway but my friend had, so it's not even "a deal" by any means. It's just common sense, right? They responded that 'yeh, we have a 7-day trial, sign up on the homepage'. They can not read.

Quite interestingly and ironically, exactly 6 minutes after I filled out the cancellation form, my profile text was updated. I had deleted the photos I waited a week to get posted because I don't trust a company like this to have my photos if they are never going to post them. How weird, right?

Now, in case anyone's wondering, the photos are very well-done but totally modest and normal and the profile text was very professional and did not speak against any company or Match.com in any regard. My friend whom I referenced above was able to sign up with the 7-day trial providing a credit card and the photos and profile submitted were posted nearly immediately, in fact we were sitting talking and wow, it's done already.

So, a few days later, it makes no sense why all the problems for me. So, we couldn't have fun with the site picking people out together for ourselves and giving each other opinions this weekend, or last weekend. I don't know this for sure, but my inclination is that Match.com may have been deliberately stalling to eat up my membership time so that you feel like you just have to do it another month, your photos and profile just got posted finally - YIPPEE! The reality of it is, I'd not have needed two months, so I would have cancelled after one month anyway.
