This is to inform ANYONE who is thinking about putting in an inground pool from this fraudulant person, Jeff Tierno from a company that he calls POOLS BY DESIGN, think again. He works from his home in Totowa NJ, when I asked him to come to his office to sign a contract he told me "well, its better to meet me at a diner, my office right now is under renovations". While I found that odd, I complied and went to the diner to meet him. At the very end of the phone conversation he told me that I had to have the full down payment that is non-refundable. Since I was recommended to him through a friend, I complied.
Things got a bit stranger when I sat across from this person who I thought I trusted to do my pool for my children, only to be bombarded by a terrible odor of alcohol from his breath. He then reached over the table to grab my hand and told me I looked beautiful. (Needless to say, I had just gotten over a bad cold and I had my three year old daughter with me). When I pulled away and got up from the table, he proceeded to grab at me and told me that I "forgot to sign the contract"!! The Nerve! I told him I was not interested and he started mumbling under his breath offensive curse words. This was at 11am on a Tuesday Morning!
First off, dont ever meet someone at a diner to sign a contract unless its your best friend. Always go to their office. Secondly, if their office is "off limits", then so should be your business.
COnsumers, please beware. This man is not only a fraud, he is dangerous!
