I went online to obtain a free credit report, and I had to sign up for a service with a 30 day guarantee. I was supposed to cancel by April 19 or my credit card would be billed monthly.
I called on April 19 and spoke to someone named Lavetta who said that my account would be cancelled. She also gave me a 9 digit code that she said I would use in case of accidental billing.in June, I recieved a call from my bank telling me that one of my checks for my bills had bounced because my account was overdrawn.
It turns out that CIC had billed me anyway! I called them and explained the situation, and they told me that they had no record of me ever calling and that the 9 digit code would do me no good. They said that the best that they could do would be to refund my last billing, and then THEY GAVE ME ANOTHER 9 DIGIT NUMBER!!!
The billing stopped after that, but I was ripped off at least 38 dollars by them billing me the other times. And there is nothing I can do about it, from what the man I spoke to told me.
