My daughter in Bandon, Oregon, received her bill from Verison Phone Company, her phone carrier, for June. Looking on the back page was listed connect fees for 900 numbers from Integretel of two $40 charges covering two, two minutes connections.
Verison has no log of them making 900 number calls. Her first call to Verison, she was told that she would have to pay it. After informing me of the situation, I told her to call Integretel at their 800 number. The rep told her to pay the bill and they would send a refund check in September. I told her not to pay, and to call Verizon back. She did that and was told, not to pay the Integretel charges, but to pay only her Verison phone bill. That didn't satisfy her, so she called athird time and the Verison rep put her on hold while he talked to his supervisor. He informed her not to pay the charges, but to pay the Verison phone bill services and they would reverse the charges back to Integretel.
After reading many of fellow consumer complaints members, I beleive she did the right thing. There may be other charges coming in the future, but at least we have a site that can help us.
