RE: Smart & Final
This is a brief encounter of how I was victimized, mistreated and traumatized at Smart & Final.
Here in the San Diego Store (1220 Plaza Blvd, National City, CA 91950) I was accosted by two hispanic employees (Carlos Juan, Moses Garcia) in a dimly lit aisle (far left, from the entrance)
1. Moses approached, almost whispering "You've got two options, we can either call the police or you can"...
I was so irate I couldn't even clearly hear what the other option was! Option? Option what kind of option was the Assisting Manager offering— me as woman in a dimly lit aisle with no witnesses?
2. They accused me of trying to hide and/or steal, a champagne bottle. Hide? Hide where? What does hide mean? I had a small plastic shopping bag in my hand but they ignored that, obsessing about me supposingly, hiding the bottle on my person/body.
I didn't even have loose fitting clothes on!
Moses continues by walking around me looking at my backside area, saying "you were going to hide it".
3. I'm convinced that these two guys had other plans, the entire incident was waaaaaaaay to bizarre. There were sexual overtones written all over this. Maybe they have did this to other women, other people— and who knows what the option and outcome was.
I shouted and screamed my way out of that aisle into the front of the store so I could get the attention of other customers. Moses repeats something about calling the police, I guess he wanted the customers to believe that I had done something I continued demanding an apology in a slew of words in an effort to defend and regain my composure.
4. Meanwhile Carlos and Moses disappeared off into the back, without calling the police. Why didn't they call the police? What kind of store policy procedure does Smart & Final have? I certainly would have wanted to hear Moses and Juan explain to the police this theory of hiding and not stealing, and about the option program that
Smart & Final offers.
I called my husband at the job, on my cell, I proceeded to get in line to pay for the champagne, not realizing until I exited the store how traumatized I was. I talked to a lady ahead of me in line about was happening. I was completely shocked! Flabbergasted at such treatment toward me or anybody.
An incident such as this should have been notated. Why didn't Carlos and Moses report it their boss? Why didn't ANY one of the employees mention it?
They have cameras, somebody please look at those cameras, so you can see how I was mistreated. There are just so many unanswered questions.
