Rip-off - fraudulant credit card charges from this company with whom i've never had a business relationship, failure to respond to attorney

Beginning in Feb., charges from this so-called credit repair service started appearing on one of my credit cards.

Since I've never been a customer of MYPERFECTCREDIT.com, I called their toll free number to get the charges reversed on my card, the first approach recommended by my credit card company.

I was unable to reach a live person at the toll free number but was directed to login to the website with my account number and user name to cancel my account. This was impossible to do because I, of course, had not signed up for the service. I sent a letter to the Carson City address (which is, apparently, a private mailbox not an actual physical office), but charges continued to appear on my credit card. I never received a response from anyone and charges continued to appear on my card. (According to my credit card, MY PERFECT CREDIT lists as a California not Nevada company.)

MY PERFECT CREDIT uses a private registration service for its domain name provided by Network Solutions to keep their identity and ownership secret, but under the terms of such registrations, NETWORK SOLUTIONS will forward any Certified or Express Mail to its client.

Such private registration services are usually used for porn sites and other controversial content sites. A legitimate company really has no reason to use such a service because they have no reason to hide behind hidden identities unless it is an abused woman's shelter or in another human services type situation where people's lives are actually at risk if a physical address is disclosed.

My attorney, Grace Bolton of Dubail-Judge PC, a Saint Louis, Missouri law firm, sent the following letter to MY PERFECT CREDIT by Certified Mail c/o Network Solutions, LLC, PO BOX 447, Herndon, Virginia 20172-0447 on May 12 after charges continued to appear. (My credit card company also reversed charges at that time.)

Dear Sir or Madam:

I am writing on behalf of %. I am advised of % having incurred $9.95 charges to his credit card since February, made by your company.

It is my understanding that the charges are fraudulent; that [my client] never authorized any such charges nor has any knowledge as to how such charges were incurred. Please initiate a fraud investigation into this complaint, and compensate % for any losses due to your charges.

You are authorized to contact % directly to resolve his claim.

Kindly comply with this demand within ten (10) days from the date of this letter.

Sincerely,

Grace R. Bolton"
[Attorney at Law]

I never received a response from MY PERFECT CREDIT although Network Solutions apparently received and signed for the letter on behalf of its client.

The charges stopped for ONE MONTH and have now reappeared on my card.

I am sending a copy of my original letter, the attorney's letter and supporting documentation to my Credit Card company's Fraud / Dispute unit. I'm also forwarding everything regarding this case to the following agencies / individuals:

Jay Nixon, Attorney General, State of Missouri
Judy Jugdmann, Attorney General, State of Virginia
Bill Lockyer, Attorney General, State of California
Fraud Division, Federal Trade Commission

In reality, the letters to the Attorney Generals will go to their fraud units.

I am well aware that so called Credit Repair services are fraudulent and that many credit report services are exceedingly expensive when legitimate information is provided. I have not and would not retain the services of any company providing services like MY PERFECT CREDIT.
