I am a union member and recieved a letter from "Union Workers Credit Services". All the information on the letter seemed legitimate, however there was no contact information, no way to get a hold of them.
This didn't seem too suspicious since I have recieved credit approval notices, in the past, that looked nearly exactly the same as this one. So, it didn't seem too out of the ordinary.
My union is affiliated with a credit union and upon joining them, several years ago, my information (like everyones) was automatically provided to them for approval. It seemed as if they had finally gotten around to me.
So, around the end of May, when I recieved the letter, I sent them the $37 the letter requested before the expiration date of June 8th.
It wasn't until several weeks had passed without any reply that I began to wonder what had happened. And as soon as I went on the internet and typed in their name, to get a contact, the very first hit was the complaint.
I'm hoping a class action law suit will soon follow my, and many other peoples report, to put a stop to this garbage.
