Sofa's Direct
Promised paid for furniture never delivered required money upfront

Sofa's Direct had a shop in Steamboat Springs, CO, advertised furniture custom made for great prices - because local.

I went to purchase furniture from them in January they required cash or check for the entire amount $1200.00, which I questioned but was told that is how they keep their margins tight.

I checked back with them 3 weeks later and they had moved to Craig Colorado - under the guise of lower rent (which would be true) I attempted to call multiple times and never got a real voice mail or a return call.

We drove up to Craig (4 hours) where they did have a store front and indicated that they were having difficulty getting the fabric. We selected other fabric and we were told they would call us monday and let us know the availablity.

My Husband got a call from them on Wednesday about 2 weeks later and they said they had the fabric and one chair was completed and the rest would be completed in 2 weeks.

I am still unable to get a hold of anyone 4 weeks later now May to find out the status.

I called a local business in Craig just down the street from them and they told me there were still people there and they had run an add in the Craig paper for Mothers Day Sale (how sick to rip people off on mothers day) Then I called the Craig newspaper and they indicated they had just taken that add out on the Friday before and paid for it and she thought there was a company in Steamboat they were affilated with. I called that company and not quite - they guy in Steamboat has filed a law suit against them with a court date in July for being ripped off as well for larger $.

I will probably never recover my $ but I want them stopped and serving time - perhaps they could make furniture in jail. This is downright robbery!
