On January 29 I called the reservation line to make a reservation for a truck rental for a family member. I was not sure which family member would be pipcking up the truck so I put the reservation in my name until they got to the uhual store. My cousin eventaully was the one to rent the truck. I did not go with him to uhaul I did not sign for the truck nor did I produce and id since I was not there.

On Monday March 28 my credit card was charged for the rental. I called Uhaul and spoke with a gentleman named Kevin in collections. Kevin told me that he would have to speak with the manager at the store in Tampa. He was told by the manager in the store as was I that I did not sign for the truck.

The manager in Tampa stated that he did not see a reason why should not receive a refund and to call him if i needed anything. I called him and he never called back.

In the coillections department Kevin put me on the phone with a Mr. Esch who infored me that since I made the reservation that made me responsible for the rental. So I asked him in other words when ever someone makes a rwservation the resrrvation stays in that persons name even thoough they did not pick up the truck or sign for the truck. He statd yes and that it was legal to do so.

On Wednesday March 30 I called back to Uhaul after receiving a reply from a comment I made on the website. I was told to contact Alicia Galaviz. This is a copy of the email I received

I called and spoke with Ms. Galaviz and it was pretty easy to get her on the phone she was very nice and agreed to refund my money. So I waited for a few days and checked my credit card account and there was no credit or even a pending credit so I called back to uhaul and was told that nothing had been processed.

On Friday April 1 I was told that someone wiould call me back I have not received that phone call yet. On yesterday April 4 I called back to uhaul to try and speak with Ms. Galaviz and for the fourth day of calling she is still not available. I was however told that they were working on the account and someone would call before the end of the day I am still waiting on the phone call to.

Today April 5 I called by to uhaul and got Kevin again who in turn put Mr. Esch on the phone who told me that I wold not be getting a refund and that Ms. Galaviz never toild me that she would process a refund for me. Mr. Esch then statd that in about three days the account would be turned over to collections. So not only was I charged for a truck that I did not rent. I was then spoken to very rudely by a collections manager and now the money owed on the truck will go on my credit report. All I want is my money back.

Somehow for them to be able to do this seems a bit illegal to me. I did not rent the truck so why should I be held accountable for it. Don't they check id when someone comes in to get a truck.
