In Dallas, Tx. (1978) as a newlywed and recently relocated female (his job paid more), my husband lost his job when his California employeer closed its consumer products division.
One of his first "interviews" was with BHA who, a friend informed him, could help him find employment at better than his previous salary. First, they wanted to meet me. Then they wanted to revise his resume. And they wanted to know how committed he was to an "investment" in his future.
I had already found employment and said no way to any of my money going to BHA. And I was not going to lose a days pay and jeopardize our only income on a pipe dream. I called BHA and asked very pointed questions and requested written confirmation / references/proof of their claims and successes, none of which was forthcoming. I called again and offered to pick up the information. At that point, I'm quite sure they were no longer interested in meeting "the wife".
Nothing's changed in 24 years in the land of the hucksters. If you're considering spending hard-earned money with them, it would be better invested in a CD. Be warned!
Don't think you'll be the one person who beats the BHA system!
