WARNING Unprofessional Damaged Property & Refused to Reimburse Lied to BBB
Sold my house. Contracted company to move my household belongings from NC to Florida in June.
Owner/Manager came to my house and did estimate. Moving day - the truck was too small. Owner underestimated. Owner promised a smaller truck would pick and deliver the rest the next morning (Saturday). I drove down to Florida. Two days later the house's new owner tells me my stuff is still there. Called company - Owner's wife apologizes - they forgot. A week later, the truck arrives in Florida with the rest of my stuff - at 11:00 pm!!! Driver unwraps antique table - the leg falls off - it's broken beyond repair. Boxes are missing. One box is new owner's garbage! Other damages. I paid extra $150.00 for insurance. Driver says ask Owner for claim form. For 3 months I call, fax, and write asking for claim form - I'm ignored. I send them a detailed list of broken and missing items and estimate for damages - $285.00. That's ignored. I contact BBB, file a complaint. They answer immediately! - with a full three page protest letter full of lies and things that had nothing to do with the move. Say I didn't contact them within the time limit. BBB says I can go to arbitration - more hassle.
This is a small, family owned company that is less than two years old and already has two complaints filed against them.
