I worked for Monitronics for only 7 months. They terminated my employeement after i had been off for 2 1/2 weeks for medical problems. I had a doctor's note from my doctor and they accused me of falsifying my doctor's note. I of course denied charges and told them if they did not believe it then they could call my doctor at his number and he would verify it. They refused to and told me it did not matter i was termintated anyways.
Fortunately I look on being terminated as a blessing because i was going to quit anyways. After seeing all the things they do to their customers.
They force their customers to stay to a renewal clause in their contracts. If a customer does not send a cancel letter and it is not postmarked exactly 30 days before contract end date they will have to fight to get it cnacelled.
Monitronics constantly calls people who are cnacelling to get them to stay. Once you try to cancel they will then give you any rate they can not to go below 9.95/mo. On a month to month basis.
They have dealers that they are associated with and are aware that these dealers are signing up customers telling them they can cancel in a year when really their contract is for 3 years. Monitronics tells these customers we are sorry but we can not be held responsible for what the dealer did when installing. Then Monitronics continues to buy accounts from these dealers that are doing this to customers all over the area. People need to stop tolerating this and go after them. Someone needs to put them out of business once and for all.
