In Nov I had placed 3 payments to credit card companys in the mail. I realized within a week I had a check paid by may bank that was not issued by me. What upsets me, is the cashier in a Albertsons market accepted a check that had almost no preprinted information left on it.
I have learned that crooks take checks and wash them. It happens I write very big, PAY TO THE ORDER, DATE, Security lock had to be removed so the crookscould erase my writing. Wouldnt you question a check with so many obvious features missing. I have compared 2 checks payable to Albertsons by my banks imaging service. One is crystal clear and one is obviously suspicious to say the least.
My local store said, I had to contact the store who accepted the check. I dont have time too prompt Albertsons investigating this incident. I emailed them and had a response saying they were forwarding the email to the appropriate person. It has been over a month and no response. Let me mention the back of my check, was imprinted by Albertsons automatically with my Driver License information, my phone #, and it shows a purchase of $100 goods, and $60 cash back. I personally feel the cashier is incompetent or knew the person presenting my check. It has taken me over 1 month to have the funds credited back to my bank account.
