I shopped with Ann Taylor nearly exclusively from 2000 to 2010 for clothing and my closet was 99% Ann Taylor.in the last few years, however, when the "New Ann" arrived, Ann Taylor's quality has severely declined with price points staying the same. There have been several complaints about Ann Taylor's quality and poor craftsmanship filed through the company and online, but Ann Taylor has done NOTHING about this. They are obviously NOT listening, since the quality of craftsmanship and material is declining more with each passing season (if thats even possible)!
I am devastated that Ann Taylor has turned into a cheap and classless store. Ann Taylor uses too many synthetic, cheap looking fabrics and too many wasteful trends. Nearly everything now looks sloppy and (especially after it's washed/drycleaned) looks like it came from a bargain bin and was designed for one-time-wear.
I have redirected all of my spending to White House Black Market, Banana Republic, and Talbot's.
Its been really challenging and heartbreaking to let go, but Ive had to bid goodbye to the now pathetic and ruined Ann Taylor I once adored, admired and recommended! Poor Ann, I feel so badly for your name that once stood for classic excellence and sophistication. Now your name is associated with cheap, inexpensive fabrics and throw-away trends. I will always remember the good times and cherish the clothes I purchased years back. C'est la vie.
