Reliable Online Shopper Information or Manipulated Buyer Reviews?

I was an early small online eBay seller & I've been an online shopper for many years. I have been a very active member & reviewer at Resellerratings.com for a few years. I've considered Resellerratings.com (here on out RR) eccentric for a long time. If I knew of a practical alternative, I would have posted my online seller reviews elsewhere but RR is effectively all we have.

RR staff have rated me a "Top Reviewer" for sometime and they have approached me for suggestions by email. I don't know why. I provide suggestions that should be obvious areas that need change, assuming, of course, that RR really is what the owners claim it is, a forum for online shoppers to report their experience with online sellers.

Unfortunately, so many strange things have happened to my account and to my reviews and comments over the past three years I have no choice but conclude that something is not right at RR. I cannot claim to know exactly where the problem lies. I just know there are problems that justify my conclusion.in my opinion, buyers cannot & should not rely one way or another on ratings or reviews about any online seller that they see at Resellerratings.com.

I try to write factual, fair, & relevant reviews that emphasize facts not emotion or opinion. For this reason, I think, I get many positive feedback for my 800 plus product reviews at Amazon.com. At RR there is no way for reviewers to know reader or member response to their posts. Readers are oddly restricted to two choices for their reactions to specific reviews, "helpful" & "cool". Members can comment on a review but when you survey reviews, you rarely find a comment or even a "cool" or "helpful" response. This is very strange, suspect even, considering the opposite found on other sites such as Amazon.com feedback forums.

Relatively new Retail Sites I know to be popular have only a couple reviews, In4dealz & Geekbuying are two such sellers. A month ago both had several reviews each. Since they are mainland China sellers I decided to research them by buying from them myself, as the several reviews at RR were suspiciously short, gushingly positive, & written in broken English. There were also Android site "members" who wrote gushing comments about them. I wanted to see if this was seller fraud I am familiar with from China sellers at eBay, some hit and run sellers at Amazon & Walmart Marketplace and those appearing with new online sites disguised to appear located in North America.

Both sellers turned out to be legitimate but one is much better about shipping than the other. I wrote and tried several times to post my factual reviews about the retailers at RR for three weeks. At first, my review of Geekbuying did appear, then it disappeared along with most of the other reviews, all positive. My review for In4dealz has not appeared. Each time I look, I find my reviews when I click "write a review".

RR makes it appear that they provide open forums for members like Amazon and even very restrictive eBay does under the rubric of "Community" RR "Community". It is very odd in that entire conversations suddenly disappear and posts disappear. To be brief, the way posts & topics & conversations appear and disappear, one might conclude that the moderator is a highly biased and eccentric person who runs the community like a banana republic dictator.
