Problems have not cease since I started with Direct TV two years ago (I am under contract until Jan 05). First, My installation did not work properly and I had to have a tech come out more than once. (Days missed from work at my expense). Second, I ordered the Direct TV Guide. The rep told me if I ordered a yrly subscription it would be cheaper. I told her I only wanted to try it first to see if I liked it. She told me I could cancel the subscription if I did not like it.
When the guide did not arrive for 2 months, I called and cancelled to be told that I could not cancel a yrly subscription. Not only did I have to pay for it, but I only received 7 of the 12 issues (they claimed someone in the post office was stealing them). Third, tonight I ordered another PPV movie online and like many other times, the movie did not show. When the movie came on, it was on for three minutes and cut out, total black screen. When I called the 800-DIRECTV line, the PPV extension was disconnected. After 15 minutes, I got a team lead, Randy Rhodes, who told me the errors were due to my connection and a tech would have to come out (for a charge of course). He then gave me a number (800-531-5000) and I spoke with a supervisor Jerry, employee ID 0984, who told me I had to pay for the movie that I had to reorder 20 minutes into the movie for a later time.
I told him I would dispute it. I want a credit for all the time wasted. He told me the first movie never went through but I would be charged for the second time. After wasting an hour online and on the phone with Direct TV, he told me I was going to commit fraud because I would call and dispute the charge. I told him I had not viewed the movie. I will be so happy when this contract has ended. They are very unethical. If anyone knows how to contact the President of this worthless company, I would love to know. Direct TV will not give out his/her name, address, or phone number.
