Our moving estimate was for 1044 cu ft. @ $2.90/cu. Ft. After we paid a deposit of $556.00 they came to pick up our household goods. After they loaded up, we were told that we took up 2900 cu. Ft of space. Over 200% more??!! We called them them to refute the "foreman's" measurement and were told the trailer is marked in 100 cu ft increments. Our estimate of $2784 now was $8410! We had to pay $1500 in cash (apparently that's how they pay their drivers) (I wonder if they report it to the IRS?) and also a check for $4387. Upon delivery we would have had to pay an additional $1937, however, "out of the goodness of their heart" they split the difference so we paid (in cash again) an additional $968.50 in advance of the driver and another "foreman" unloading the truck.
When our stuff was unloaded, we found that our stuff only took up 1900 cu ft! An overcharge of $2900.00!! After numerous phone calls, pictures of the inside of the trailer, and the foreman agreeing that we were overcharged they are still giving us the run around.
After a week of this frustration they finally wanted to negotiate and give us $1500! We've reported them to the DOT but they can't do anything.
We were told if we accept the offer we'd have to wait until the first of January to be sent a check because after all "it's the holidays and month end"! We said we'd accept the full amount due but I doubt we'll ever see it again.
Do yourselves a favor and do not use these people! They were formerly incorporated in Florida, but in September dissolved the corporation. They are not registered in either New York (sales office) or New Jersey (warehouse).
Talk about ripping off Seniors - these people are the biggest rip-off ever.
