Marta Michaud is a ruthless predator and should be exposed for the crook she is. Marta Michaud should be in Jail for fraud and theft, or at least exposed to all in the industry so hopeful dreamers new to the modeling and acting industry won't fall victim to her deceptive practices and waste any of their valuable time trusting her, and so that her business associates and clients will be warned of what kind of person or agency they may be involving themselves with.
Before Marta Michaud opened business in New York, she had her own management company in Los Angeles under the name Marta Michaud Management. Unfortunately, I was one her victims who was lured in by her charm and business savvy with hopes of breaking into the business.
When I first met Marta she had a very bad black eye, and I asked her what had happened. She told me that she was jumped by a couple of girls outside of a bar one night. I felt very bad for her at the time that that had happened to her. I was able to model for Marta Michaud Management in two runway fashion shows Red Mechanic and Boy London, which she provided the models for. All I received for my efforts in these runway shows were a couple of free tee shirts and the experience of doing runway, which at the time I didnt mind because I wanted to include it on my resume.
Marta offered me a position in her management company as Director of New Faces which I accepted. This gave me an opportunity to observe how Marta worked in the office. I noticed Marta had her Favorite, a short haired blonde girl who she took under her wings and focused a majority of her efforts trying to promote, as if this girl were her own child or her golden ticket in the business. This girl was offered most of the modeling auditions/assignments over all others and even appeared in the Nine Inch Nails Closer video. I worked for Marta until it become apparent that she was not paying me my salary. She kept giving me excuses that she didnt have the money to pay me yet, but it was coming in. I worked for a few months in this position until it got to the point where I was forced to approach her and tell her that I could no longer work for her because I had bills to pay, however I told her that she could still represent me for modeling/acting under my contract.
Marta Michaud provided all the Extra Talent for Dwight Yoakams Sorry You Asked music video which I was one of the extras for. I was approached during the video shoot and offered a more featured role in the video, as a roller skate guard, which allowed me a speaking role with Harry Dean Stanton and more pay for my part. I jumped at the opportunity. I worked on roller skates for 9 hours that day. Due to my shady experience with Marta regarding pay in the past, at the end of this shoot I approached the production people and asked them if there was anyway they could mail me my check directly instead of to Marta Michaud. They informed me that they could not because they had already worked out a deal with Marta that they would pay her one check for all the talent she provided for the shoot which if I recall resulted in thousands of dollars. When the video first aired on TV, I taped a copy of it on my VCR and was happy to see myself in it.
After sometime went by, I tried to contact Marta, but her number was disconnected. I contacted the production company and explained that I hadnt gotten paid for my role in the video. They told me that there was a warrant out for Marta Michauds arrest because she took all the talents money and moved out of state. I told them that I was afraid that that was going to happen, yet they were unable to do anything about it. I later noticed that the music video had been shortened in length and my role was edited out. Probably as a result of airing talent with speaking roles who never got compensated.
In the end, I cant help but think back that whoever gave Marta that black eye was probably somebody she raked over the coals and was getting their revenge on her for it.
Perhaps if enough people wronged by Marta Michaud post their stories of how they fell victim to her deceptive practices and were ripped off by her, maybe then Marta Michaud will be investigated properly and convicted in a court of law as she should be or at the least get out of the business all together, as she gives the business a bad name.
Shame on you Marta, I have seen from other posts on the internet, even from the New York area, before you most likely had a hand in having most of them removed in a futile effort not to draw attention to yourself and have your past reputation of taking advantage of unsuspecting young actors/models exposed. That reputation of you keeping money that was rightfully theirs and not yours, and which you took upon yourself to steal from them. You are unprofessional and a despicable person. Hopefully, others will stay clear from you and your deceptive tactics, especially those who would otherwise trust and be represented by you with their modelling/acting careers.
