On Friday evening my 19 year old daughter that is a freshman in college escorted my 15 year old daughter to a Doctor Seuss movie. The Killeen, Texas Hollywood Theater would not allow the 19 year old to escort the 15 year old to the movie. Apparently they have a policy that you must be 21 years old to escort someone under 18 to the move theater in Killeen, Texas. When we first questioned this rule the manager, Chris M. Told my 19 year old daughter that it was part of the Killeen curfew law. Texas Curfew Sec. 28-172 says it shall be unlawful far any minor to knowingly remain, walk, run, stand. Drive or ride about, in or upon any public place in the city between the hours of 12:00 at night (midnight) and 6:00 A.M. On any day of the week or between the hours of 9:00 A.M. And 2:30 P.M. On a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.
I understand that there are stupid teenagers in the world but that does not mean that we need to punish every young adult. It does not mean we have to punish older adults too and force them to go to Dr. Seuss movies.
