My Wife and I have been good loyal Video Renting customers at Haubers Video in Chesterton, Indiana since August 11, up until october 25th when the bussiness was sold, and moved to another location, keeping said name of Haubers. However, in the beginning we thought they had closed. Not realizing we had a late fee of only $42.40 on our current and perfect account, they never sent out letters, emails, faxes, phone calls, nothing.
Here it is 01/17 6 years later, we are getting a letter from the porter superior court/haubers video suing us for a grand total of $425.12 for late fee, interest, attorney and court fees. None of our personal information or work information has or had changed since the last time we rented there. What is even funner is that we over the period of being customers had paid $476.00 in late fees total and only @296.00 in actual rentals. Account balance except late fee o 42.20 was 0.00 it states there is no probabation on the account.
I believe the owner lives in Hawaii now? Probably broke off his crazy weird butt and now is trying to collect some stupid late fee. I would have paid it in a heartbeat knowing we owed it, and this would or was going to happen. According to the paperwork recieved, we only owe 42.40 and thats all we or i am going to pay this jerk. What a freaking joke. The people who bought the place and still operates it as haubers video should be asking for the money, not the old owner!!??
I hope that this man did this to all of the people no matter what and we all go against him and he actually will end up owning us some money?!!?!? How is this legal that 6 years later with no communication a lawyer sends me a summons to appear in cort for a small little late fee for a bussiness this man does not own??
