I am very disappointed in Bollywood New Years Eve Gala which was promoted by SOUTH ASIAN YOUNG PROFESSIONALS ALLIANCE and Exclusivechicago. This is my 2nd time I got ripped off by these promoters. Both times these events were sponsored Desiparty.com, sulekha.com, ExclusiveChicago, Club Bollywood The South Asian Young Professionals. Last time they had double booked a party didn't find out till we got to the door after spending 10 min in line.
On Dec 31'st, Me and my friends paid (7 of us) 35dollars each and spent about 30mins in line front of a old, ugly looking house (deff not a mansion) in a freezing cold weather.
When we got to the door, no ID's were checked. We all got a orange good for nothing bracelet. When we got inside, there were kids all over the placeseemed like they were between 16-18 yrs old. (even though per flyer it's a party for 21 (Recommended: 23) Line for coat check was horrendous. We had to push and shove out way up the stairs and I was totally disappointed look of this place. No dcor, no party favors, and no bars. They were serving warm alcohol from a table (no actual bar). Sound system sucked (2 speakers stacked on each other) and lights are seemed to be from a party rental store. I could of thrown a better party in my backyardThere was one DJ and had no clue what the heck he was doing. It's seemed like a high school rave party. The bar lounge was 50 people capacity but seemed like they about 200 in there. I was totally disappointed and my NYE sprit went down the dump. Speaking about dump, the bathroom was horrible. People were pissing all over the damn placeI was totally grossed out. It was too late go anywhere and we had already spent $300 dollars for tickets and cab ride alone.
We were in there for less then 30 minutesthen the cops show up. They shutdown the music and then the DJ announces us to evacuate the premises and that they have to control over this. Chicago police dept was shutting down the party exactly 10 minutes before midnight due over capacity and underage drinkers.
I am thinking to my self, how can you not have control over capacity and underage guests. Don't you not know how many people bought the tickets or have the door man check the ID's? Seems like the only thing promotes had on their mind was to make quick money by false advertising. I had to do my freaking count down while waiting on a line to get my coat. There were no cabs to be found when we got outso had to walk few blocks in the cold to find a ride. Total experience was shameful to me and my out of town guests.
The place was un-professional and did not look anything like the pictures on the AD.

DJ - ALADIN, KRUSH, GEN-X, SKYY, KUIKI I don't thin any of these DJ's were thereI could of DJ'd better.
It's total shame to me and my out of town guests... We will not ever attend a event sponsored by these guys. I will also convey my dis satisfaction to all my Indian community friends from UIC along with all my family and friends.
