My 10 year-old daughter loves to sing, act, and dance. She saw an advertisement, while watching TV. She got my younger son of 8 excited also.
She gave the number to her father, who called and set us up an appointment. We debated whether or not to go with gas prices being so high and we would have to drive for an hour. We also only get paid once a month and were struggling to make it to the end of the month.
Since the kids were so excited and we could not afford to go on vacation this year, we decided to make a day of it and take them to a nice restaurant afterwards. We even encouraged some good friends of ours to set up an appointment at the same time and follow us down to Charlotte.
They said to dress up, so we even had to buy my son some dress pants and nice shoes. We were there for 3 hours. Afterwards, my family and our friends who went with us started questioning the legitimacy of this company. Thank God for the Internet... We checked and read about all the scams. We thought we were going for auditions and had no idea of the thousands of dollars these people were wanting. We were so naive! They seemed so nice! It makes me lose some of my faith in human nature.
We were lucky, I guess. We found out that same day, and did not waste any more money or time calling back. All in all, I guess this lesson costs us $60 plus some special pictures that we will probably never get back. We are all disappointed but more the wiser!
