Lost Special Moment

It is with sadness that I have to forward this letter.

I am wanting to bring to your attention the experience we encountered at the David's Bridal store by Ingram Park Mall. On Wednesday July, 20 I made an appointment to visit the store. Our oldest daughter recently got engaged and has been anxious about trying on some of your bridal dresses.

She is our first daughter to get married, and I was so looking forward to seeing her in the dresses to get that whole warm prideful joyful moment. I was expecting the moment to be more joyful than her high school or college graduation, and I must say those moments were awesome.

I invited a very close friend, my daughter-In-law, and my niece. I can say the experience will never be forgotten, however, in a dissapointing way. We informed them at the store this was our first place to shop for her dress. My daughter had a dress in mind, which she selected from your website. The salesperson that was assisting us took us to the fitting area. Once my daughter tried on the dress, we decided this dress was not, "The One". She then tried on a second dress. This was a very nice looking dress and fit her perfectly. The sales person became pushy about buying the dress because it was on sale.

Mind you this is the first store and I did not want my daughter to feel pressured in making up her mind at that very second. I calmed my daughter and pointed out I was not a rush nor should she be. The "wow" feeling about the dress was just not totally there. I also told my daughter since the price was reasonable we could possibly purchase two dresses.

My niece then asked the sales person for a particular dress that she saw in your David’s Bridal catalog and right away the sales person said it was not in stock. I then asked my friend to look start looking for more dresses, for my daughter to try on since she purchased an Oleg Cassini dress for her wedding and I loved it.

My daughter in the meab time was being told by the sale person in the dressing room, "I can’t wait to go home it’s late and I want to get out of here." My daughter tried to let it roll off her back which we try to practice in our daily lives. I understand someone may have a bad day. I get the fact we are human but the sales person actions got worse.

The sales person came out of the room noticed we had selected three more dresses. She then asked me to stop everyone from looking around because they were not allowed to bring them off the rack without her assistance. Okay, it seems sensible but what I can’t understand is why she never even gave my daughter the opportunity to look around before the appointment, so now we were not allowed to look for her?
Also remember the dress I mentioned my niece asked for. Well my niece actually found it herself and when she asked that my daughter try it on. The sale person asked for her name and said she should not be trying on dresses that cost too much, because then girls cry when they can’t afford to buy it. After my daughter came out with the dress the sale person stated, in appalling tone, “Well Rita how do you like it is that good enough for you? ” For remaining period of time that we were there she kept make comments to my niece Rita.in fact my niece asked her for maid of honor dresses and instead of receiving assistance, she received the cold shoulder. My niece was then pointed out the wall the dresses were located at, and informed they were all there.By then my daughter asked that we leave and I agreed. That’s when the sales person tried to be friendly and asked we sign up for a return appointment with her so she could then allow more dresses to be tried on. What did she think that after being mistreated we would come back for more? I am not a very unfair person; I treat people as I would want them to treat me. The treatment we all received was not what any of us expected to receive yesterday. God has granted me another chance at life after almost losing it last year, to be with my daughter in her special moments. “This was one of those moments that I wanted to cherish with my daughter”, however this experience ruined that picture perfect moment.
I will continue to search for the special dress for my daughter but not at your store; sad to say.
