The event went as planned. Everyone was there and on their game. Bands were on, film crew was good. Sound flowed and a cool guy ate swords. The House of Rock forgot to show up. I want to say this right off the bat. June and Jerry Thurston own the House of Rock. They agreed to host an event for all ages. They agreed to provide an outdoor stage, and to split the gate with 99 Burning's Electric Circus. They have done none of these things.
They ripped off Resist a few weeks ago, and now they've ripped us off. Of course, these problems can be rectified, but that is up to the House of Rock. We have video footage we're using to get an accurate head count. We have a release signed by agents of the House of Rock. I'm burning (as usual) to prosecute since a lawsuit against them would be relatively easy to win, but my co-producer Dave thinks these f*s might have some dignity after all so he's making me publish this explanation as an appeal to June and Jerry to do the right thing.
Firehouse has been playing the House of Rock for a while, so they might also be interested in getting the Thurston's to right themselves by 99 Burning as well as Resist. Firehouse rocks! And hey, if you guys read this, check out the circus - we're putting on a series of shows with spots for great bands.
The last we heard from HoR was that they had $1058 from the gate. They were vague enough to avoid making it clear whether this was the total or just the half that they had agreed to pay us. Our video coverage of the event suggests the latter and if we have to go to court, of course we'll find out for sure.
