I bought tickets from TicketWeb. I remember seeing a rewards offer, but certainly did not sign up for one. But here I am, finding a $9.00 charge on my bank account for Entertainment Rewards. Coupon Book??? Online Coupons? Who knows!
The website is a blank page. The phone line is not being answered. However, I used the phone number listed on my bank statement and they did answer! Here it is: 877-793-6866. The man on the other end of the phone said I could surely cancel, however since this is a service I had agreed to, there would be no refund.
I remained calm. Asked him what kind of scam this was. Where was the website? Where were my signup emails??? I told him (again, calmly) that if my charges were not reversed I would press charges. He said that it would take two billing cycles, but my $9.00 would be credited back to me. Now, do I believe that? No, not really!
I did receive an email stating my membership had been canceled, but no confirmation that they were going to credit me back. Then he told me I couldn't sign up again. AS IF!!! The sad part is I was half questioning whether or not I did sign up for this. I know I didn't, I never do this kind of stuff. But this was posted on TicketWeb (operated by ticketmaster) Shouldn't I trust them?
Anyway, I am wondering whether or not to close my bank account. Who knows what other charges will come my way from this operation. Glad I found this site. Just as the others had described it. Two months had gone by before I saw the charges. Would have been longer if I did not have internet banking.
