Jackson Rancheria Casino, Jackson Rancheria Band Of Miwuk Indians
Ripoff, cheating, glorified shell game scam, slots not like Nevada casinos, take money under false pretenses

I took my grandmother to this casino this past weekend (Saturday and Sunday) and we spent $6,000.00 between the two of us. The machines do not even give out small paybacks. Each machine would take $20 after 3 minutes on most 25 cent and $1 machines. Nobody around us was winning either and many in each row we played in were getting very upset. However, we kept playing the money we brought because we thought we had a chance at winning. I do not believe these machines are set for anybody to win even small paybacks. Very few of the machines would even give the cherries and mixed bars (2,5, and 10 credit pays to keep you in the game). I could understand it being that tight if there were only 20 people there on a weekday at 3 AM but this place was crowded with angry people.

The casino recently closed each section down one at a time for "maintenance and cleaning" and it is my belief that they changed the microchip/eprom unit in each machine to offer little or no payback, in some cases 0% to not even pay a 2 credit win. I think they did this because another casino is opening just down the road in a few months at Jackson Valley Rd. And they know they are going to go broke once a Las Vegas style property moves into town. This is very dishonest and is taking money under false pretenses.

I have played all over Nevada, even in the small towns like Elko and Winnemucca that are known for having the tightest slots in Nevada, and these machines are the tightest I've ever seen. $6,000 would last you a whole week in Reno on quarters and dollars. I fully understand that when you gamble you lose most of the time and most often do not come out ahead. However, reputable establishments will let players stay in the game awhile by kicking back small paybacks even if you are not winning big jackpots. Reputable casinos do want you to lose your money but they want to show you a good time in the process and keep you on the machines for awhile. This is good business for them and any casino manager will tell you that.

I think California needs to clamp down on these scammers on these Indian reservations and set a minimum payback for slots like the state of Nevada does. If anyone on here has had similar experiences make sure you let the Department of Justice division of gambling and Gambling Control Commission of the state of California know your frustration and that you feel they are using their slot machines as cheating devices. The machines are falsely advertised as being Nevada style machines, they even look the same, but they are not the same.
