After a horrible experience with Sears where I tried to purchase a dishwasher. I decided to try Lowe's. I did my research and the Lowe's Credit center was extremely competent making sure I had enough credit approved for my purchase. I tried to purchase it online because I can not walk easily and am in great pain and a trip to the store in Laurel MD which is not close to Silver Spring MD is very difficult. However they told me I had to come in to the store because they are so electronically challenged that they can only do contracts for installation in person. So I went last night and found a highly competent saleman named Ben Acheampong-Anin who gave me excellent purchase advice and completed the paperwork lickety split. He is a true treasure. However, getting the purchase processed was nother matter. He had to walk me up to the customer service counter (leaving another customer waiting for what turned out to be 25 minutes.)
It took 25 minutes to get the purchase processed. There was only one clerk who could check people out. Although another clerk could stand next to her and do nothing for 25 minutes. Another six salespeople were lollygagging within 3 feet of the service counter doing nothing but joking around. Another customer was in line and thoroughly disgusted. I was in excruciating pain and could not stand and had to lean on the counter. My salesman was highly embarassed. I did complete the purchase eventually and would love to buy from this salesman again, but the configuration of customer service at this store sucks.
