Chase Home Finance is Pathetic

My husband and I currently have two mortgage accounts with Chase that have been in existence since March of 1999. The mortgage payments have never been late.in 2008 a tax bill was overlooked and Chase paid it. We subsequently refunded Chase for the tax payment. We pay our own taxes and our insurance for our properties. The monthly payment on our fixed mortgage for our primary residence is and always has been $738.68 monthly. Our combined city and county tax payments average $1,600.00 per year. Our insurance is approximately $600.00 per year. All of these we pay directly. Chase has attempted to increase our monthly mortgage payment by $1,010.46, which is $12,125.52 annually. They list this increase on the mortgage statement as escrow. They have refused to correct this and, of course, have provided no justification for it. We have spoken to numerous people in numerous departments, all to no avail. We have sent numerous correspondence and proof of payments and insurance, all to no avail. My husband and I are senior citizens and in our seventy plus years of existence we have not experience such incompetence and rampant disregard for customers. We have had one representative who seemed to genuinely want to help, but even he couldn't seem to get anything done about it. We have been told that we are bad homeowners. We have been told that we had better hope that we don't come home and find our doors locked and our things on the street. Of course, Chase has been erroneously reporting the mortgage payments as delinquent to the credit bureaus. We have sent request to Chase that have not been addressed. We have come to the conclusion that we are going to have to hire a lawyer to sue Chase in order to get them to correct this. We have been informed that they are definitely in violation of Section 6 of RESPA.
