I wrote the above report about a year ago and I almost did not recognize that I authored it. So, you have gotten a glimpse more or less of what I am going through my life as it happens.
Oddly enough, today, I received an Award Letter from SSA explaining my new benefits for the coming year and you might not believe what it says. First of all, I was given an estimated monthly benefit, which is 3.6% higher than this last years. My benefit did not even come close to an amount that would truly be of help to maintain myself.in other words, they gave me a measly percentage which is actually an insult to us recipients of SS Benefits. If I would break it down for the last 3 years, this is what it is going to be: a $9.00 increase increment since the year 2000 or 1.19% for each of these following years; 2000; 20011 and 20012. Can anyone think of another word to describe this pathetic truth?
And here is a killer statement from the Award Letter and I quote:
Even though the law provides for an increase in Supplemental Security Income payments beginning January your payment will be lowered. This is because there will be an increase in the amount of Social Security Benefits in January which we must count in figuring your Supplemental Security Income payment.
Can anybody please explain to me what is wrong and what is going on with our Social Security Administration? I am poorer than a church mouse and they have the nerve to cut me off with a decrease in my Supplemental Security Income.
I am going nuts just thinking of what this is all about. Is this really happening?
If I were younger, I would have probably poked more fun about it but now that I am older and I, myself, had
been affected by the governments insult and slaps in our faces, I need to tell everybody what the game is all about inside SSA.
How could these people, who decided upon this stupidity, sleep at nights?
