7250 Old Redmond Road, Apartment N-153 Nightmare Condo in

I leased an apartment (condo/townhome) for 1 year at the following address:

7250 Old Redmond Rd, Apt N-153, Redmond, WA 98052

It was a complete nightmare and the most regretted decision I made for my family to date. Thankfully we have moved into a home now and don't have to deal with the place or the landlord. Here are the issues that I encountered:

Heating/Cooling - I asked before I moved in if there was A/C and was told yes. The reason I asked is it's uncommon in Washington but there was a condenser on the side of the building. Well, when summer rolled in and it start getting hot I was then explained that it was just a "summer fan". That was completely worthless and when it got hot outside it was about 15-20 degrees (YES, no exaggeration) warmer inside. The problem lies in that the blinds in the condo were all worthless and the front of the condo faces south with a large set of windows that are very old so they have 0 insulating value. We spent a week in a hotel because we feared for our cat and I was too sweaty in the morning to go to work. Ughhh...

Leaks - The beautiful soaker tub upstairs leaks. We contacted the landlord who claimed it never happened before (that story changed) and the landlord had somebody come in to fix the leak. It was not fixed. After I moved out I was told they fixed it by the landlord. (I'm sure it's not fixed)

Neighbors / Neighborhood - You can hear right through the walls which most of the time isn't a problem but don't plan on not hearing their movies and music constantly. The immediate neighbors aren't the problem though it's the rest of the neighborhood. The people across the street work in a liquor store and while the guy is nice he regularly comes home at 2-3 in the morning and spends the night in his car throwing up occasionally (gagging and puking). Then there are the parties thrown in the alley that go well into the morning. The worst part is that you are right above a 7-11 on Lake Sammamish Parkway so there are plenty of interesting charecters that make their way up to the apartment community. I had a mentally disturbed person try to get in my car with me that took me 15 minutes to get away from. Our car was broken into and robbed (damaged, stereo and speakers stolen, vandalized) during broad daylight one morning. This is not a place I'd let my kid go out and play outside at...

Stench from Mold/Mildew - And for the grand finale the worst experience of living here is the stench from the place during the rain season. My wife and I are pretty meticulous and the landlord acted to be as well so no idea where it came/comes from but it's one of the lovely events that you cannot locate and only comes once in a while. The landlord came and claimed she couldn't smell it but it's very present. Even my dry-cleaner could smell it in my clothing. I swore it was mold or mildew in the walls because it seemed to originate from the front balcony area which constantly collected water on the patio due to the landlords custom tile job. This smell was bad enough my wife and I contemplated walking from the place even if we had to pay out the remaining 4-5 months of rent. We ended up not moving and thankfully I had enough work travel where my wife stayed with parents we managed through the rain season. But not before the home owner's association confirmed my suspicions for me. Somebody from the land management noticed the black mold crawling down the front of the building and forced an inspection. The entire front balcony had to be redone due to improper drainage. This meant we got to enjoy a blue tarp over our main source of light for over a month that tinted the entire place blue. It was depressingly horrible. During the rip out you could clearly see how damaged the wood was and while they didn't go into the house I'm positive that the rotting and mold/mildew has seriously spread because the smell still popped up after the patio replacement.

I believe the house is for sale or sold but I wanted to put this up in case it hasn't that way whoever is looking or moved in knows what to look for or take care of immediately. DO NOT move into this place if you don't have to...
