I was bedridden to to surgery and paid DVM for my tags so I wouldn't be late. I recievde from DMV that I needed a smog check before they would issue tags and I was not able to drive so I wrote DMV and told them the car would NOT be driven untill the day of the smog test. I went in for smog test and DMV sent me a letter I owed them a late fee of $28 before I could get tags so I sent them the $28 dollars and waited for me tags and I never recieved them.in Nov I recied a parking ticket for NO TAGS and I went to the police that day and was told yes it showed I was paid up for tags but they could not right off the ticket untill they saw tags on my car! I went to police three times asking who I could write to because I had writen 3 letters in NOv and got no reoly at all! I wrote DMV a few more times and got NO responce so when I got the notice to pay for the NEW tags I sent in the check along with another letter telling them I never got last year! I waited for this years tags and never got them instead I got a letter with a refund saying I paid outstanding warrent! I never had a warrent for anything and was writting and phone California DMV constantly and have cancled checks and DMV never wrote me anything but a foirm letter with NO contact information I went to AAA to see if they could help and now I am told there is a lien against my car! I am disallied and don't drive much I go to doc and to drug store and there are months I don't go anywhere. I can't get DMV to reply or help me and when I went to Santa Barbara DMV they made me pay again for the same tags so I went to car and put a stop payment on check and wrote DMV telling them I did that and please contact me to resolve this issue... I am so upset over this and it has dragged on for a year and a half. I don't know what else I can do. Please help me
