The Deseret Industries is owned by the Mormon Church and is a non profit store. All items are donated by the public or by stores[end of season closeouts}So all the mechandise they sell they get for free. The problem is they are raising prices so high that you can buy some of the merchandise cheaper at a retail store. I went in there to buy some clothes for my daughter for school and the little tops were marked $4.00 and the pants were marked $5-6 for used clothing. I then went to Target and found the same top on the sale rack for $3.00.
Used cups and dished are marked $1.00. I can buy a new coffee cup at Walmart for $1.00, Again this is USED MERCHANDISE, DONATED TO THEM!
For a non-profit organization they are making ONE BIG PROFIT. Rethink your donation
The Deseret Industries just keeps raising their prices, how does this help the poor?
