Animal Regulation And Camarillo Police Department
Humain Society And Camarillo Police Department, Violation of my 4th amendment rights!

I was approached while sitting in my garage watching TV by animal regulation demanding to see my dogs license. I refused and told them to go away and not bother me on a Sunday afternoon. They came back with the police and demanded my drivers license and dogs license. I'm sure they ran a background check on me right there. The police officer handed my license to the animal regulation agent and when I asked for it back he commented that we have the right to hold on to it until you comply with our demands. They then proceeded to threaten to take my dog away and write me a citation if I didn't produce a license or pay the fee to purchase a license on the spot.

This is a complete violation of my 4th amendment (search and seizure) and 14th amendment (due process) rights. Coming on to my property uninvited demanding identification for me and my dog. What is this Nazi Germany or the US? If they had sent me a letter explaining that dogs require licenses that must be renewed each year then I probably would have gladly paid the $25.

So, basically the police or their agents can show up on my property at anytime and demand identification and threaten to seize my property. They sent me no notice or request to license my dog. This was not a friendly stop to remind me to license my dog. This was a complete violation of my rights as a US citizen without due cause.

This is not the America I grew up and remember. We need to stop this over grown monster we not call the US government before it's too late and all our rights are taken away.

To quote the author of the 4th amendment.

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
