This letter was issued to every probationary employee within Arizona State DES/FAA on Friday February 13.
"This Letter is official notice of your dismissal from the Department of Economic Security, Division of Benefits and Medical Eligibility. You are dismissed effective at 5:00 pm on FEB 13.
Today is FEB 20th and none of the 200 employees affected by this have recieved a final check, even though, that final check should have been issued within 72 hours. Also none of these employees has received word with regard to their retirement benefits. This is information that these employees need in order to file for unemployment. This information would have been provides at the time of dismissal had the State of Arizona Social Services Department had a clue as to the theory of Social Responsibility. Every one of the employees that was dsmissed was owed mileage which the State of Arizona was also negligent in paying. If this is not embarrassing enough DES/FAA partnered with Arizona Department of Corrections for the Purpose of "Beating up" a former Corrections officer on the basis that "Only Mexicans are Getting Welfare". The Administrator who organized the so called beating, had enough pull to have this person assigned to the office on Central and Broadway, instead of an office near where this person lived. The reason for this. Arizona Department of Corrections wanted to prove that "Only Mexicans Get Welfare", and wanted this former correctional officer to see the demographics of the south Phoenix Barrio as oppose to the primarily caucasion Demographics in Gilbert or Apache Junction. As a clincher the state arranged to have Felix Villanueva a Traffic School Instructor employed for the purpose of training the newly hired employees, who proceeded to "beat up" the students in pure DOC fashion. These students who were primarily single moms believing that they had been given an opportunity to provide for their families were being subjected to eight hours of marine core drilling. Villanueva condcted the entire class in mode of an adrenaline filled rookie cop who just pulled over a speeder and was itching to use his billy club. For the record Why is it that FAA employs 98 percent females and yet those in positions of power are men, I thought we as a society did away with glass ceilings in the 70's. To put icing on the cake Villanueva would close the classroom door and tell the class that he was sent to tech the class because he was being punished, Villanueva stated that he was a black sheep, and that he had even thrown a chair at a student because she did not listen to him, but he instead of being dealt with fairly He was given a pat on the back, Villanueva also made it a point to bring Kathy Montano director of Human Resources into the classroom to let the class know that anyone who questioned Villanuevas' methods, chair throwing and all, would be let go because she the director of personnel and Villanueva were long time friends.
