Carrington Place Apartments is a 'luxurious' apartment complex outside of Atlanta. It is rather nice, but their has been a lot of crime in recent months. Around two months ago a SWAT team broke into the apartment accross the way to remove drug dealers. This month police came to break up a domestic dispute in our building, and I just had my car window replaced after thieves broke it out and stole my GPS system.
When I spoke to management about the thieves, they claimed that there are security cameras everywhere. If there were, I'm sure that the police could trace the person who busted out my car window. They didn't offer any help with this. When my roommate called about the SWAT team, they completely denied that it happened. Management also refused to do anything about the domestic dispute and we had to call the police ourselves.
Apartments here can be well over $1,000 per month for a one bedroom. There are signs everywhere stating that there is security and there is a pass key gate that allows entry. However, management has never offered to reimburse us for the theft, or the disturbance caused by the neighbors. They simply claim that security exists and that the crime did not occur around us.
Do not live in Carrington Place Apartments in Lawrenceville, GA. Crime is everywhere and management will not help to protect you. Check out multiple complexes, townhomes, etc. Before you decide on a place to live. I'm sure that there is crime everywhere, but you can probably find a different landlord in a different complex that will help to protect you from the dangers inside of your 'gated' community.
