I wish for people to know that I drove for Ferarri moving for a full year. They are a rip off and are not fully equiped with packing essentials. Thay always use (Labor Ready) locally paid helpers non affiliated with the company and under insured personel as well. I have had crack heads and drunks show up on the job in their state of drug induced times. These people I have repeatedly had to turn away and wait for replacements resulting in prolonged scheduling and removal of customer household items. Always for certain we weigh our trucks before we show up to load for the move. 100% of the time we did as they say in the trucking business (jump the scale or black line it). What this is, is that we roll our front end tires/Axle to the end of the scale and allowing the tires to roll half off the scales making the entire truck weigh from 2,000 to 4,500 lbs. Less than it actually is. You have a result as a truck actually weighing 15,500 to 17,000 lbs empty showing up at your door on the day of your move with the driver having in their hand moving documents and a weigh slip. This weight slip in most cases is enormously less than the actual weight of the truck itself. Once you are loaded and usually instructed to follow the driver if you can to verify the weight of the truck/following it to a scale. You then are asked to sign and verify that it is in deed that weight. Now the driver is fully on the scale adding the extra entire weight of the truck putting you over the original estimate of the move by a few thousand pound and upwards. You are told normally in the beggining that you will pay an additional cost in the event there is an overage in weight at a cost of 18 cent to 27 cents a pound over. Your move begins at say an estimate of $1,200 at 1,000 lbs. And ends up being 3,300 lbs. So at 24 cent overage cost per lb. You end up paying $504.00 more and it gets worse. People are being ripped of and I just wanted to inform those that have been what to look out for. Best thing to do is see the truck weighed with your own two eyes both before and after. Before you sign and complete the paper work. Never Ever Approve of the weight before you see the truck weighed with your own two eyes. Never allow a mover to begin packing until you are satisfied with these results. They can make all the excuses they want but all they are trying to do is divert you from your immediate thoughts and move on with their intentions and rip you off. Pay attention and you get what you pay for. Many of these smaller companies get by with much because they are not tightly regulated as are many of the larger ones. This and many other companies like it are never fully equiped with packing material and packing blankets to cover and protect your personal and valuble items. This company in particular hires persons from off the street without regards to the need od protection of your personal items. Many of the personell are inexperienced and do not know how to do the job appointed and they just learn as they go. It is wise to get what you pay for in that big name relocators have a team that travels together and works together on a regular basis. They have everthing they and that is required to safely move and store your personal possesions. Remember Big Name is good to use and is well worth it. It takes a life time for some of us to achieve certain goals and to aquire many things for our homes. Do not let it all go to smither-reens over night or a few bucks saved. It can all be damaged in one single day by companies like these. Protect yourself and listen to your inner self and go with it as you know they way in which you would like your things cared for.
