Goodwill Industries
Sells junk tv's they know are bad, works there and not at home. They over price many items. Beware!

I have bought two tv's from Goodwill and both did not work when I got them home, however they worked in the store. I thought what luck I have! But I talked to another lady who said she too was ripped off on sooo many electronics that she will no longer buy them. She said that it worked in the store too but she talked to the manager and he said it had something to do with the wiring.

How wierd, that is not right. I got my tv right home and they do not let you return items even on the same day. The tv turned on but with a very distorted picture when I ogt it home. Everything is sold as is. I needed a tv for my bedroom and paid $35 for a used 19inch which is a little steep being that you can buy a nice new flat screen for about $100-120. I was sooo upset because it was all that I had and I was ripped off. The tv was thrown in the trash dump the same day that I bought it.

I had also bought collectible items and they don't wrap items well, sometimes they just throw items in the bag without wraping and sometimes they wrap in a tiny piece of newspaper. I have had many items that get broken by the time I got home. I am also upset about some of there prices which are the same as what you can buy in the store or very close too. Even there workers told me that it is rediculous. There is this small crystal item they had priced for $45... They had a lot of them priced from $35-50 and the worker behind the counter said there manager priced it and it is so very rediculous. They have used hair dryers priced at very close to what you could buy new. I also saw this one small limited edition enesco figurine that you can buy new for $20 and they have priced for $15 and it was used and paint slightly work, not bad but still way over priced. I have seen other enesco pieces priced for $1 or $2 but I guess the manager or whom ever wants to over price. Plus you can buy it on ebay for less then half of that $15 that they had it priced, I rearched it.

I used to go there daily but now I only go 1-2 times a month. Workers just stand around doing nothing. There is one older long grey haired lady that stairs at me sooo wierd everytime I go there, she is not customer oriented at all. She looks mad all them time! I know that Goodwill is suppose to put people to work thru there donations but why make so much profits and have high prices and plus look at some of the people they hire. I must say that some of the workers are very nice and polite, they know my mom and I because we used to go there so much but not anymore. There shirts are over priced also, you could buy new clothes for some of there prices. There handbags are priced nicely, unless it is named brand. When they occasionally get in coach bags, etc which are torn, very badly stained and some with broken zippers and they want $30-50 plus for it, and they could be fake bags. I have seen dollar tree items (some broken) they price for more then $1, that is just crazy.

I also saw some new sealed after christmas gift sets like the ones you see at Walmart, the exact ones and they wanted $15 for it and it sells new for $19.99 at Walmart, however they had it 50% & 75% off after Christmas so that means it sells at Walmart for $10 or $7 dollars. That is not right for Goodwill to try and make $15 off of it.

I think they need to look over the managers and who they hire. Some of the workers don't price items right also, you will see exact items a day or two later for much more or less. I want to put this complaint so someone can look over this and maybe do something about it.
